Scott Smith - Cabinet Maker

Cabinetmaker Scott Smith is a third-generation carpenter and woodworker.  After thirty years in the bridge building business, he retired to follow his passion for creating hanging cabinets, tables, and other pieces inspired by colonial and Early American examples. His favorite woods are tiger maple, walnut, and cherry, and he also produces pieces with an antiqued milk paint finish.  Scott is additionally a self-taught blacksmith, and his cabinets feature rat tail hinges he hand-forges.  His shop is in a ca. 1850 wood building that local lore claims was once a school.
